I love humor in a story. So this story immediately caught my attention. Cupid gets himself in hilarious situations. For this book I pushed myself to create interesting compositions and perspectives. Since this book is a love story and one about cupid I wanted to use some sweet pastel colours. They go really well with cupid his bright orange hair. All the details and characters in this book made it so much fun to work on.
Character design
For Cupid I made quite a few character designs. Different face shapes, different hair styles and with every choice of Poe we came closer to a final character design. What I really like about Cupid are the swirls in his hair and on his knees. It's tiny details like that, that give a character personality. And of course his undies with heart pattern.
